How can water-based aluminum silver paste achieve a mirror-like silver effect? Both water-based aluminum silver paste and mirror silver fall under the category of aluminum pigments. The main difference between the two is that water-based aluminum silver paste is cheaper and its production process is relatively mature, but its metallic feel is weaker (compared to mirror silver), whereas mirror silver has an extremely strong metallic effect, but its water-based system is not mature and it is expensive.

Due to its strong floating property, water-based high-floating silver is prone to shedding silver flakes. Therefore, it is generally recommended for products with a baking process and is not highly recommended for self-drying coatings. Of course, another reason for silver shedding is the poor compatibility between the chosen water-based resin and the water-based aluminum silver paste, which makes it difficult for the water-based base to fully encapsulate the water-based high-floating silver, resulting in the shedding phenomenon. Therefore, it is essential to test the compatibility with water-based high-floating silver before selecting a water-based resin.
